Everything's Roses

So I've been glued to the television today.  I thought I was  burned out on pre-inauguration coverage, but today's ceremony (and boy, is there alot of ceremony) felt sincere. I was moved.  I believe Barack Obama believes the words that are coming out of his mouth.  That's refreshing. Uplifting even.

Most speeches are uninspiring. Usually, the people saying the words aren't the ones writing them and the people writing the words aren't writing what they believe or even what the people paying them believe. Speeches are about what they think people want to hear. Today felt real instead of contrived. I crave real instead of contrived.

So I'm not saying everything's roses.  I'm saying I felt inspired today by my new President's conviction and integrity.  I could get used to this.

P.S.  If you missed Reverend Lowery's benediction, you missed a treat.  The last few lines brought down the house.
