If you look up to the right at the top of this page, you will see my progress on my 50,000 words for National Novel Writing Month. But jeez, I have much more important things to do...
You can do it. I did Nanowrimo one year. I started then got busy with other things and time was passing. One day I decided to continue and get it finished. Just write, without thinking - go with the flow. Let the book write itself rather than you trying to plan it and make it what you think it should be. You won't write gibberish. There is a pearl waiting in every oyster - no matter how odd it looks outside. Don't even think about how many words. I wrote just over 50,000 in a total of nine days. If you can even take one day and write a lot, it will ease you up. You can make faces while doing it too. It's satisfying when you cross the 'finish line'. All the best.
I have about 25,000 words. Elspeth, thank you so much for your encouragement! I might be able to write a good bit today with your kind words. Turns out, there's been a few snafus this month (of course) and with company coming to stay in my house Thanksgiving, I've just almost given up but If I follow your advice, I might just make it! Thanks!
Well, crapola. i didn't do it, but I don't feel bad. i still have 34,000 words I didn't have in October. Imma try again next year. Maybe you all will do it with me!
