I did Nanowrimo one year. I started then got busy with other things and time was passing. One day I decided to continue and get it finished. Just write, without thinking - go with the flow. Let the book write itself rather than you trying to plan it and make it what you think it should be. You won't write gibberish. There is a pearl waiting in every oyster - no matter how odd it looks outside. Don't even think about how many words. I wrote just over 50,000 in a total of nine days. If you can even take one day and write a lot, it will ease you up. You can make faces while doing it too. It's satisfying when you cross the 'finish line'.
